10 Lazy Workout Hacks Every Lazy Person Should Know

 

Everyone can get lazy about working out sometimes, long work and school days can be exhausting. When you do get time to workout you probably rather just relax and spend time with your friends and family. Since I’m also guilty of being lazy when it comes to exercising, I’ve put together a list of 10 lazy work out hacks. This is for anyone who considers themselves lazy or just looking for simple and easy ways to lose weight without much effort.

 

Drink Water Before Each Meal

Drinking two cups of water 30 minutes before every meal will help fill you up faster so you don’t over eat. Try this for 12 weeks and you can lose up to 4 pounds! Also try drinking a glass of water when you feel like snacking, this will help ease your cravings.

 

Flavored Water

If you’re like me then you have a hard time drinking plain water. I have two tricks I use to consume more water.

  1. Drink it really cold – I find this helps numb my taste buds, even though water has no flavor haha! This also helps burn extra calories on an empty stomach!
  2. Add lemon to your water – Citrus fruits help boost your metabolism and gives plain water a better taste.

Eat From Smaller Bowls and Plates

If you have big plates and bowls consider getting smaller ones. With smaller plates, you will have smaller portions of food. This works great combined with the two cups of water you drank 30 minutes ago!

Bed Exercises

So you don’t feel like going to the gym and maybe you don’t even feel like getting dressed. Do some bed exercises from the comfort of your home, no more excuses.

  • Leg lifts
  • Planking
  • Push-ups
  • Sit-ups / crunches
  • Ankle rolls
  • Inner and outer thigh lifts
  • Leg Spinners
  • Stretches

 

Wear Your Gym Clothes

When you wear your workout clothes around the house it psychologically makes you want to move around more, and maybe motivate you to go to the gym. I do this one all the time while listening to music and it also helps if they’re cute!

 

Wear a Pedometer

Pedometers help keep track of how much you’re walking, so all you have to do is wear it and go about your day. 2,500 steps a day will help you lose a quarter pound of fat a week!

Meal Prep

If you’re busy or just don’t feel like cooking sometimes, food prepping is your best friend. You get to make a healthy meal that you can bring to work or school and not fall into the temptation of eating pizza or a cheeseburger.

Eat Slower

Eating your food slower will give your body time to realize when it’s full. You know that feeling when you’re so hungry that you eat super fast and next thing you know you can’t move. We don’t want that to happen, so take it slow.

Talking on the Phone

Are you the kind of person who can stay on the phone for hours? Good, while you chat away go on a nice long walk. While you’re walking and talking you’ll be getting in those extra steps without even knowing.

Find a Hobby

Find a hobby that keeps you moving. Maybe it’s swimming, dancing, bicycling, or basketball. Having a fun hobby will help get you fit and you won’t even know it.
